I was in the city today, and I didn't even know about it.

Don't feel too bad. It wasn't publicized.
The rats didn't even know about it.

I think it's great when the elderly manage to lead active and productive lives and maybe even record an album now and then.

What's odd is I think they're all back to being gay.

In "Brown Sugar" he changed all instances of "black girl" to "young boy."

The more I think about it, what was coolest wasn't that it was the Rolling Stones. Sure, I like them and all, but they're not an all-time favorite.

What's coolest was that I got something very expensive (even priceless) for free.

What's coolest is that sometimes this city repays me for all of the hard work it takes to get by here.

If a rolling stone gathers no moss, than these 2 are not stones... nor rolling. They have perpetuated a rock and roll mythos for decades. Yes they may have done something interesting back before I was born, but what have they done lately? Gathered moss. Props for doing whatever it was that made so many people like them, but really... do something relevant to me and I'll be impressed.

(Did that sound too negative? It probly was. I'm wrong, they totally should continue riding limousines and snorting cocaine off of hookers' asses, it's what they tried for and deserve. I'm just a lowly music enthusiast, what do I know?)

((this is not a comment on the poster's musical taste, but only my own taste... which is horribly misguided... he eats fermented cabbage and likes it for god's sake))

I eats fermented cabbage and likes it too.

Also, I happen to agree with you that these stones have been gathering moss for the past, oh, 20 years or so. Which is why they have to kick any set off with something from before we were born to even hold a crowd's interest.

Only recently have I even paid more than glancing attention to these guys, and what brings me back to it is the filthy, dirty blues they played in the early days.

As I mentioned in a reply to someone else, it wasn't the fact that it was The Stones that pulled me in, it was the fact that they were pimping their mythos across the road from me for nothing.

Free whores are still whores, but at least you don't feel robbed.
