They're endeavoring to make a live action TV Series about Wreaththu, and name it, Raythu?

My source is the bio section on Brad Carpenter, in the back of Para Imminence. But its also previousily mentioned in Paragenesis too!

They should keep the original spelling! So What do you other Wreaththu Fans Think!  To me its Wreaththu spelling or nothing!  Come Storm Constantine give us a break...don't let them change things like that now!   ( Read more... )

It's not lovely true feathers I'm against. It's who or what is wearing them and whether they can transcend the plot the way it should be done!

Actually if you want to look at that way, Velaxis or Ru's friend and Thiede's watchdog and hegemony's most in demand whore... is sort of a very elf like creature of an ancient race of beings, made hara, that his own private secret agenda?

Pale silver haired Vel, is one of my favorite characters. He is a random out of the box, secretly powerful intriguing character, not above using his body most willingly to get what he wants to know. Both for Thiede and himself. It's never mentioned is if his ears are pointed though. LOL Cal

Its a project that has Storm's endorsement, which is why he was chosen to do the forward of Para-Imminence.

Personally I think Wraeththu is going to be difficult to translate to TV... several of the core aspects are not going to appeal to some sectors of the general public...inevitably there would be pressure to play down the bits that wouldn't sell.

If the show has good acting talent and sticks to as close as it can to source then it has potential

My point is if it can't be done in the true, creative glorious way it was first done by the author. A second rate bastard version shouldn't be attempted at all, for it totally diminishes the original. Then perhaps simple greed has totally replaced love of the regular story in order to make a buck??? I don't know how an author can forsake a well loved child of his or her creative muse to crass, debouched commercialism just for money ( ... )

That isn't how it works Cal... an author has very limited control of a TV or film project

besides... from the description this is Thiede's early years they are going to depict...that's a blank canvas that gives them room to grow

Yaaaaaaaa, I know, but it doesn't mean I like it! And there is a lot corrupted screen versions of good literature out there. And the author can say "no" to selling away his baby, in the first place

They'd gotta get some hell of a beautiful young actor, hopefully not a girl, to play the angst ridden, alienated, estranged obviously tortured Thiede. Hopefully not any young actor that has anything to do with that awful crappy "Twilight series"!!!

Maybe he follows this site and got the name inspiration from it! XD As an idea based perhaps not just on the main stories as we know them but all the stories and ideas that have grown up around them in spaces like this.

TBH I dont think they could risk just having girls play them, as there bound to be a lot of scantily dressed types or bare chests that they wont get away with showing to a mass audience unless its boys ;D

I reckon Charlize Theron and of course Tilda Swinton could be nicely cast as wraeththu boys, but i doubt they'll be going for names so big. From what i've noticed here and there, Brad is looking a boys for casting/inspiration

One thing is certain: many won't like it. As for Raythoo...Johnny Public will have enough problems pronouncing that.

Too many nasty uptight people in the world! calgslinger December 30 2012, 22:02:31 UTC
And that, Ash baby, is too bad! It make them behave older than they actually are, which makes them afraid to think out of the box or accept change. Being too out-modishly conservative in the real world will eventually kill us off, for without growth and change everything stagnates till it dies off...

Keep the fictional Wreaththu story Pure. And may the real world become more accepting and liberal.
LOL Cal

Ah, it would be lovely if a screen version could live up to our (the fans) glorious visions of the indescribably beautiful Wraeththu. LOL! When I first heard of this, I was excited, then as I thought about it, my fear was that any portrayal of them would be lame. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
