how do you get blood out of a shirt?

I came across a picture of a wrist cut suicide recently, while studying Criminal Justice, so I did a sort of tribute to it and tried to match the cutting pattern on my chest. when I was done I wasn't thinking too much and I threw on a shirt and the blood soaked through. As I much as I like the new colors they have to go. So any suggestions on how

Depends on the fabric. Always use cold water, though - hot water sets the stain, and it'll be really difficult to get out after that.

I know it sounds weird but it's said to work of corse you get a coke sain afterwards if you dont wash it out right away.
