Hope you stay on high ground. I have an aunt out in Ipswich and my parents are just outside Toowoomba, luckily my Dad had Monday off work and so wasn't in town for the flash point.

spare a thought for people who rent on the water - we aren't all well off and don't all have insurance.

look after yourself chook, our thought will be with you (and i'll focus on you getting some milk - prolly wont help but shouldn't hurt either)

Mmm, yes. Back in my uni days, I had some friends who were sharing a house just off the University of Queensland campus. This house had a mysterious brown stain on the wall about two and quarter metres above the floor, extending all the way through the house like a ring around a bathtub. It took some months before somebody realised that it probably marked the height of the 1974 flood.

Oh, absolutely! That was my point, I just said it badly while I was rushing this post out while I still had power.

I'm glad you're ok and your stuff is ok. Good luck on finding the supplies, hip-check granny if you have to, just don't drop those last eggs.

Goodness - sounds like you need to be careful for rioters and looting...and underwater zombies...

Hmm, 3 years since your last post...

I hope this doesn't mean you were consumed by the flood, and just that you've moved on to posting elsewhere.
