Intersection of 8th and Atlantic. Right outside my building.

Times like this, I wish I had a Maori war club in my jacket sleeve. Mr. Burgundy is better prepared than I.

Kidding aside, you're OK and that's all that matters. They can have the purse and phone. Material things are easily lost--you are not. I'm thankful you're safe and looked after. Everything else will be cared for by friends and by you when the weekday comes again.

Long Beach is still a lovely place. These cowardly vermin lurk in any city and we're well rid of them. Reasons or no, I've always felt that theft is pure cowardice and greed and should be rewarded as such.

Again, you're OK. Phone, pass, purse are replaceable. You were brave to fight back, but it's done and gone. Don't let them disturb you any more than they need to. I've called them several times, but bitches refuse to answer.
Craven. Bah.

Glad to have you well and home safe. *hugs*

no changes to my bank balance. So far so good. Now to see if I can talk to the DMV and social security today. The gub'mint. So. let's see.

One of the obnoxious things is observing my reactions run through the fear gamut, up to and including wishing I were armed. heavily. Bitches. I chose to be non-violent. If I fuck up every now and then, that's one thing. But no low down piece of shit is going to move me from being *ME*.

just a scratch on my right elbow and many rattled nerves. All in all, I'm glad too. Before I knew it was chasing after the guy and thinking to myself "I really shouldn't be chasing him."

Anyone doing a snatch'n'grab is probably a valid target for chase. An armed suspect would've threatened you with the weapon.

more or less. Things are being replaced/cancelled/turned off.

the only thing I'm going to need that will be hard to replace is courage in the dark and some sort of faith in humanity.

and thanks.
