:D!

Okay, who else supported the theory that Snape loved Lily prior to DH?

Raise of hands? *JUMPS UP AND DOWN WITH HAND IN THE AIR A LA HERMIONE GRANGER*

If so, when did you first suspect it. I first considered it when I read OotP but I've seen clues as early as PoA (some have seen clues from book 1 but they're incredibly subtle).

And is there anyone else at this comm who ship James/Lily AND a bit of Snape/Lily D: I KNOW YOU LOT ARE OUT THERE!

There needs to be more Snape/Lily/James. And not just the crack at greasypotters.

I hated the idea of Snape/Lily, it still makes me cringe, but I always knew that if it was going to happen it was because Snape and Lily would be from the same area and were childhood friends, so it was pretty predicable, unfortunately. I suspected the childhood friend thing more by the end of Spinner's End in Half-Blood Prince (though it was also a thought during "Snape's Worst Memeory" in OOTP) when we got a glimpse of where Snape was raised. It was a dirty area and I deduced that Petunia's impeccable cleaniless came from growing up in an area lke that.

Wow, good catch. I never suspected that Snape and Lily would have known each other before Hogwarts.

Mine too. I've already lost count of how many times I've gone back and re-read it.

Roflz, seriously. Maybe JKR told him, "Okay, so you're a WEEEE bit of an ass."

I don't have much to say really, except that I loved this chapter the most out of any other in the series. I'm not a certain shipper of any type, but it just touched me how deep Snape's emotions really ran.

Yeah, this is one of the best chapters in the series for me too. At first when I saw the chapter picture, I was sorta shocked in a groany, "I can't believe JKR went there," because the whole "Snape loves Lily" theory seemed too preposterous to me. But the way she developed it was completely unexpected and totally believable, and oh so emotional and tragic. The scene where Snape reads Lily's letter and he's crying really got to me because we never see him with his guard down. It was a wonderful revelation.

i agree completely. i felt so sad for snape and how he had to live his life....never had a real friend that he could be completely honest with.

"her son lives. he has her eyes, precisely her eyes. you remember the shape and colour of lily evans' eyes, i am sure?"
:/

i think i started hyperventilating like nobody's business when the doe showed up. in hindsight i'm pretty glad i didn't do a lot of hardcore theorizing, it was nice to be surprised by stuff like this.

Same here...well about Snape and Lily. I've come across the theory but I dismissed it. But I theorized about Snape's loyalty and it was nice to be vindicated. :)
