The Final Harrys

I know this comm is about mostly the books, but have you heard?  Last Harry Potter Book Becomes 2 Films

I think it's great that they are splitting it into two movies in order to NOT have to cut things from the book. My interest in Harry re-kindled (and this a day after I got rid of my Harry Potter icon from my user pics!), I went looking up the ( Read more... )

I don't like that there's such a gap between the movies. I think they should've just filmed a really long and epic 4 hour movie, and then during the showings, maybe have an intermission? Like, a 15 minute-break just after Ron storms off? We can all storm off with him. =P

I don't really think that's a good idea. In the last Pirates of the Caribbean film (not the best example ever, I know) they just had an intermission to split up the film, and that was okay. I doubt Harry Potter fans would mind watching a four-hour film if it meant that more stuff from the book would be kept in... but they're not going to be very true to the book, are they? :|

Also, I wanted Joss Whedon for movie 7. Boo.

I'm happy they're keeping the director, the fifth movie was the first one I really enjoyed. I just wish they would have gotten rid of Mr.Kloves, the script for the fifth movie was so much better than the ones before, in my opinion.

And as for there being two movies instead of only one - I'm not really fussed either way; I complain every time that they left things out, but it never spoils the movies for me, because I don't ever expect much of them.

Oh. Joss Whedon! *points at icon* How amazing would that have been? He would have ROCKED that movie. :(

I really enjoyed OoTP, but I'm a little skeptical about this decision to split the movies. Especially for those viewers who haven't read the books ... on the one hand, it might increase fervor about the movie - depending on the length between the two halves - and increase revenue; on the other hand, people may be confused about the plot with that gap between the two installments.

Personally, I'd enjoy an extra-long singular movie. Then again, I'm one of those fools that loved the three-hour theatre presentation of Grindhouse, and didn't miss a minute, so perhaps I'm not a very good cross section of the viewing populace. :)

I'm pretty excited about it. An extra movie means more Harry Potter, which might help fill the void now that the series is over. I miss my HP!!

What I want to know is what they'll call the book 7 movies. Deathly Hallows 1 and Deathly Hallows 2? That's kind of lame.
