[A little dog is laying down at the side of a street with a great air of sadness. Why does he seem so down? Well, there's this bright red ball sitting just beside his muzzle, and it's not moving. A ball that isn't thrown isn't fun at all. So he'll just lay here and give sad eyes at people until they play with him

Hey there little fella!

[Dogs are cute, especially tiny ones like Wishbone. Heisuke plops down right in front of him, grinning.]

What's got you so down?

[Wishbone sighs dramatically and nudges the red ball with his nose.]

I have this ball, but it's not doing anything.

[Hint hint.]

[Holy shit, this dog just talked.

........Wow, this world is awesome. After taking a minute to get over the shock, Heisuke picks the ball up, bouncing it a few times in his palm.]

Well, that ain't right. Must be broken. We better check.

[He stands up and wiggles it at Wishbone for a moment, then tosses it down the road.]

[Wishbone instantly stands up the moment he touches the ball and tears down the road with loud barks the moment Heisuke threw it. He caught it while it bounced, but he threw it in the air again and did a bit of a flip before catching it again. He wanted Heisuke to have fun too, and Wishbone loves to perform.

Eventually, he triumphantly brings it back.]

[A pirate sits down on the curb right beside a very sad dog. Following the dog's gaze, said pirate ends up staring at a bright red ball and it mocks him, silently. It is such a cheerful, round little thing. Like a clown nose, or a cursedly plump tomato. How dare it be so happy and round and complete?]

Makes you think of death, doesn't it.

[Wishbone is puzzled of course, but he raises his head to gaze up at the pirate. The less said about the smell, the better.]

How does my ball make you think of death?

[He hasn't washed for DAYS. Days. And there is probably a distinct odor of rum coming off of him.

Jack stares at the ball some more, hating it.]

Oh, it's all happy NOW, isn't it? Round and plump and delicious and red. And then? And then it gets crushed. It gets crushed right under her heels, and then it gets shoved down your throat and you...and you CHOKE on it.

[If there is one thing a dog is good at doing, it's laying around while people talk to them.]

[Well here's a young girl passing by when she notices the little doggy, just laying there and looking pretty down about something. Curious, she'll approach the dog.]

Hey there little guy. Everything all right? [She'll notice the ball momentarily.] You want someone to play ball with you?

[Wishbone instantly brightens and jumps to his feet.]

I would like that a lot!

[He barks and wags his tail in anticipation.]

[Action]

Ok-... [...this dog just talked. Long pause.]

[He barks happily and jumps from paw to paw.]

I can get it no matter how far you throw it!

[lolstealing]

[Locke sees the dog just laying about, so he approaches and bends down to get more at eye level with him]

You okay there little guy?

[readingwishbone]

[Wishbone whines and nudges the red ball towards him. Just look at those big, sad puppy eyes.]

[yup yup Locke is smiling and it's a big goofy looking one too. he grabs hold of the red ball and tosses it into the air, catching it again]

Oh? You wanna play, huh? Here you go fella, see how fast you can run!

[he tosses the ball a couple of feet in some direction, it's rolling pretty good]

[readingwishbone]

[Wishbone jumps up and goes after it like a jackrabbit. He snaps playfully at it and bounces it from paw to paw comically before finally taking it in his jaws and returning with it. He decides to show Locke what a good performer he is by raising both paws up in a begging position while he waits for him to take the ball again.]

[Aww, that doggy looks so sad and lonely! Pommy's going to be a hero and go cheer him up!

So Pommy scurries over to him. And since Pommy's only about a foot tall, he doesn't have to bend over at all as he reaches out and pats Wishbone on the head.]

[Wishbone is startled by the strange creature who had walked up to him and briefly considers running away. Instead he sits up so that he can see the creature eye to eye. He does wag his tail at the pat though.]

Hi!

[Don't mind him... he's just going to lean closer so that he can smell you better.]

[Pommy doesn't seem at all startled by a talking dog.]

Hi! What's your name?
