Missed my friends' wedding anniversary.  This is probably a good thing, since I haven't seen them in 10 years so letting go of the trivia would leave room for other things in the old memory  banks.

But I've remembered now, so: Happy 36th Anniversary last Tuesday, Gene and Joyce!

Yeah, I know, not my usual "MO".  But here's my thought:

Rather than having a constitutional amendment on the ballot that would further restrict the rights of a minority group in Minnesota, what if we put this one on the ballot?

What's odd? Well, we live in North Minneapolis. Yeah, where there was a tornado on May 22nd.  We lost a tree and will have a new roof and some trim replaced.  We didn't have any damage so bad that we can't live in our home, and we can see the oddity of no damage at all across the street ( Read more... )

Lots of churches have their once-a-year review last year's finances, pass this years budget (Hey, why didn't the rest of you guys raise your pledges? Whaddya mean, yer unemployed or retired? Sheesh!) and elect new victims to the governing boards ( Read more... )

Just wanted to say that there are many people I am missing very much at the end of this year, and mostly they are Michael (the old boss) and Victor (what's up, doc?) and Gene.

Tom Johnson, husband of my co-worker, The Rev. Wanda Copeland, died this morning.  Tom was a great guy who was liked by everyone he met.  He was an inspiration to MANY in the last year via his CaringBridge journal.

This ends a year of hope and hell for Wanda and family.  It will change things here in the office, too, I suppose.

Rest in Peace.
