I tried one of those for a bit, but never quite got the hang of removing the damned thing without feeling like I was suctioning out my internal organs along with it - a scary enough sensation that I didn't care to keep trying. I eventually opted for Sea Pearls instead, which worked out surprisingly well for me. These days, though, I've since opted out of the process entirely, and am infinitely happier for it because fuck menstruation.

Those Sea Pearls look pretty neat!
I think I'd worry about cleaning/reusing, as they appear somewhat porous and... absorbent.

Not going to lie, there is a learning curve to Diva Cup and it's a bit steep. I'd be more worried about having to empty the cup in a public restroom -- don't want anyone concerned about the sluuuurp sound of the suction.

Yes, for women who are both sure they never want to have children, and also have no risk of blood disorders that could cause over-accumulation of iron or other problems, endometrial ablation is an excellent option. As the website says, sure beats hormones or a hysterectomy!
(Note: for anyone else reading, don't get confused: endometrial ablation is not a form of birth control -- it is a procedure that reduces the uterine lining. Only procedures that block a woman's fallopian tubes are considered to be birth control. Well, that and hysterectomies, which are and should be a nonstandard method of birth control and cycle control.)

The Sea Pearls were surprisingly easy to keep clean between periods - granted, I used a mix of roughly equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water (a higher peroxide concentration than they suggest) along with a couple of drops of tea tree oil, and soaked them for an hour (longer than they suggest) before making sure they were well rinsed and thoroughly dried before storage, but they cleaned right up and I never had any problems with re/using them.

For the record, I got the Novasure done a few months after my Essure procedure - given that I'd already seen to it that I'd never fall pregnant, I saw no reason for my body to keep preparing to do so (and I was well and truly sick of dealing with the crimson tide anyhow). :)
