Gaius looked puzzled when Arthur opened the door.

“Where’s Merlin?” Arthur asked.

“I’m afraid I don’t know, sire.” Gaius replied. “He said you’d given him the day off.”

“The morning off,” Arthur corrected.

“Have you tried the tavern?” Gaius asked, one eyebrow raised.

“Not yet,” Arthur replied darkly.

Drunk Gwaine is fun. Drunk Merlin is adorable. Arthur slowly figuring it all out, was lovely.
And I love his musings at the end - his contentment and his thoughts about what he would do with Merlin.
