Last night, we hosted Bab5 on a very last-minute basis. It was just me and Ben until the doorbell rang at 8:30 or so. I opened the door and saw someone who didn't look the least bit familiar to me. Iris got into Crestmont School for kindergarten, and I just got a call yesterday that Neil and Zinnia can start at Skytown Co-op Preschool in the fall. So, once they all start at their schools, Iris will be going 5 days a week, and I'll participate 1 day at her school, and Neil and Zinnia will go 3 half-days per week with me participating 2 of ( Read more... ) -

Neil now has all 4 molars poking through, although the most recent one has just broken the surface in one place. Zinnia has 3. I'm hoping that we're almost through the double teething ordeal. Sleep was a bit better than usual last night - I think I was only up 3 times and I got a nice long stretch somewhere in there. -
Recent happenings
Zinnia and Neil are now 1.5 years old, and they had their 18-month checkup last week. They continue to be long and skinny. Zinnia objected so vigorously to sitting on the baby scale that we ended up weighing her by the inaccurate adult subtraction method. As soon as the ped and the nurse had left the room, N & Z both climbed down out of my lap ( Read more... ) -

Turning the compost is definitely my least favorite chore - it's dirty and smelly and there are bugs and worms. But if I don't turn it, stuff doesn't break down as quickly, and RATS move in. *shudder ( Read more... ) -
