I think seeing Sigur Ros in concert would be an amazing experience, but i don't really know if I want to spend $30 on one ticket right now... would it be just as worth it to just get their new CD and listen to it with my eyes closed a few times?

it's just a choice between two or three other smaller shows for the same price, or one that people (surrealsoft) say would be incredible. I think i'm going to go for it.

Live music is always better.

I do agree, and there's no way my silly computer speakers could ever compete with the vibrations of a concert hall.

No, listening to the CD with your eyes closed is most definitely not the same as seeing them in concert.

I’m not big on concerts, because usually I feel I’d get more from listening to the CD, but Sigur Ros is on my list of bands who are totally worth seeing.

I saw them a few years ago for $25, and was not at all disappointed. They had a big projection screen behind them showing all sorts of arbitrary images, they had an amazing light show, and on the last song they used some kind of crazy bass machine to make the whole building shake. I mean, the whole building, the walls, the floor, the chairs, was vibrating like some kind of crazy sex toy. It was awsome!

I suppose you could create the full Sigur Ros experience at home by making a tape of arbitrary video footage, and getting some black lights and a vibrator, but somehow I don’t think it would be the same.

A Sigur Ros show would be a steal at twice the cost. Buy the ticket, you’ll thank me later.

Me, maybe? You've perked my interest.

Unless you'd think that three concerts in... (when is this show?) whatever amount of time is too many to see with me.
