SQUEE! A sequel! I loved this original crossover and I'm sure I will love this one just as much. Great start, can't wait for more.

Very intriguing beginning. I love the groundwork you've laid for how the Colonials are grafting themselves into the Earth economy.

This line made me chuckle: It was still called Detroit by just about everyone except for the United Nations, the US Government, and Laura Roslin.

Just out of curiosity, even though events are different in this AU, will you be retaining the identity of the four cylons revealed in the end of S3? If you don't want to tell me, that's okay. I'll just call you Kate Harper. ;-)

I'm probably going to sidestep the issue as I don't have a telepathic connection to RDM's brain and have no idea how he's going to work those four in.

I'm glad you liked it. This is sort of the teaser, the second chapter, which is with the betas, is longer. I'm sort of waiting for someone to object to me dumping them in Michigan. ;)

Hehe, actually I hadn't thought about that. Michigan mostly came out of discussions with my sister who is a post doc at UMich in public health policy. At some point in the last year I suggested that the Mayor of Flint, Michigan should be a job assigned by the State Department of Corrections since it was a job I couldn't imagine anyone actually wanting.

He did Chapter 2 ;) But mostly that's just Roslin and Helo hating each others guts.

I just found this on galactica_wireless and although I'm a fan of both BSG and The West Wing, I wasn't going to read this, honestly, because I wasn't sure it was going to work for me. But the rest of the stories on the wireless's posting was mainly Kara/Lee and Sharon/Helo, who aren't really my thing, so I opened this on a whim, and REALLY liked it. I've just joined the recolonization community so I can go back and read Black Ships. I can see it'll take me a while :) but I'm very curious to read those now.

I look forward to the next installment in this fic!

Oh, I totally understand, there is a little bit of crack just in the crossover. Honestly there is as much Helo/Ellie Bartlet as there is going to be Helo/Sharon. I just can't entirely ignore the canon about them.

Either way the ship isn't all that important to the plot in either story and I think you could probably enjoy it without being a shipper.

The next installment should be in the next few days. My last beta has it so I'll be posted when she's done with it.
