urban guerilla sun-dried tomatoes
My landlords, bless their hearts, are rather indifferent gardeners. Like, for instance, they put birds of paradise in the same beds as rosebushes and cacti- that kind of thing. Attended a misogi memorial for someone at the dojo and then went to a small reception to celebrate the wedding between my new sensei and her wife. Then we went to two classes on Saturday. Holy shit
I'm getting married again. On Saturday. To the sweetest guy in the world. And if I fuck this up, all my friends and co-workers will kill me because they think the sun sets on his ass. What's more, the sun DOES set on his ass.

party
The party last night was great. I ordered waaaaaay too much food. I even made too many desserts (two almond tortes with strawberry puree topping, two strawberry-chocolate-kirsch tarts, two trifles, one carrot cake). I had to browbeat people into taking stuff home. And I can't tell you how many bottles of wine and how much beer we have left. -
aikido note
Someone told me that when you get old that practicing aikido can get a little dicey, depending on how well you can handle falls and how your knees are. However, you can keep doing weapons training long after you have to stop doing bodywork. Then I had an image of myself wielding a sword at eighty.

new role
I have fourteen nieces and nephews, so being an aunt is old hat to me. But yesterday I became a great-aunt and that, my friends, is a little freaky to think about.
