I feel dumb.

I have never voted. Yes, you heard that right. Not because of any particular convictions, but simply because in all the previous elections in which I could have voted, I didn't care enough to actually figure out who I wanted to vote for ( Read more... )

That must be frustrating--but I doubt it is particularly uncommon. I think the <30 group may have enough mobility that being registered and in the right place is sometimes tricky, even for people who really want to vote.

Well, that is a sentence that I never thought I would see applied to you :)

And that must have sucked to realize that you couldn't vote today when you actually wanted to, I am sorry :(

Can you re-register? In my state you can register at the polling station.

Actually, this is a great point. You probably can. You might have to cast a provisional ballot--but they'll be counting ballots for a long time anyway in this process. You should go vote!

The only reason I remembered to change my address with the board was that I still had an old change-of-address form kicking around when I moved last month. I'd filled it out but never mailed it.

I'm worried I may forget to vote today. It means skipping or coming late to my usual Tuesday night activity.

One fringe benefit of low voter turnout: shorter lines.
