(i'm crossposting my response...)

yea, i remember reading that as it came across the wire last night...

meh, i don't really care either way, and i know she's got a whole backstory in her mind of the HP world... BUT, it seems so pointless and kinda dumb to me to out dumbledore once the story is all said and done. he's gay? pffft. why tell us that now?

maybe it's just me, but i find it odd how often gay subtexts are read in what are just male-male friendships... i guess 'cause it sexualizes something that's not necessarily. oh well.

now all the fic writers are gonna be proud of themselves for calling it, lol.

It wasn't entirely pointless, somebody did ask if he ever found love and she had to out him to explain how he only had a single case of unrequited love for gellert and that turned out horribly. I think if she had made it clear beforehand a lot of ignorant people would've been put off by it and not enjoyed the rest of the series, or there would be even more controversy against it, like there will be now. "Not only is she trying to turn our children into heretics, she's trying to make gay people seem wholesome and likeable too!"

I don't know if you went to the linked ONTD post, but it was annoying how people were like "SHE OUTED DUMBLEDORE BUT DIDN'T ADMIT SIRIUS AND REMUS WERE BONING? WTF ROWLING!?"

Like sure have your fantasies, but cmon.

harry potter slash has always been quite disturbing to me.
