Worlds Most Stubborn Lazy Baby (tm) has been holding court in my gut a bit too long and now my midwife has to drop me. Boo. but she is Worlds Best Midwife and changed my due date again to keep me a few days extra and is coming in on her weekend off to hang out and party with me through getting aforementioned Stubborn Lazy Baby booted. For what it's worth, my cervidil induction with Linden went without a hitch. I had a beautiful labour that I will always cherish, even though it was in hospital I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm so sorry this isn't happening the way you wanted it to in your heart. You'll be so relieved when he's finally here, whatever path he takes to arrive, he'll be out one way or another!

Thinking of you Kell...<3 <3

oh opal thanks that makes me feel so much better. can you tell me about your induction?

i just feel like im fucking the baby over or something. its such a hellish feeling. like i failed him or something. i know its not rational, but im not feeling very rational. i know we have no chance after saturday of having an attended homebirth, and theres to much history in my family of bleeding disorders to do it alone, and i know if we dont induce and show up to the hospital in labor it will be 100X worse then going in with our midwife. its just so hard to not feel messed up about it. im so stupidly tired right now that i cant seem to be ok about anything.

Well, I was 35 weeks along when my doctor took my blood pressure and found it was high. I had pre-eclampsia. After a 7 month stay in the hospital, I was finally home and had been administering my own TPN and bolus I.V's in my comfy bedroom for a few days ( ... )

darling, please don't feel defeated. you must have the BEST, most comfortable, belly in the world for your boy to want to stay in there this long. really, i'm serious! you must be doing a great job at making him feel contented in there, hehe. i know they say babies come when they are ready but perhaps he could do with a little push now...i'm sure your birthing experience will be wonderful, regardless of how it starts. chin up! big love.

You are strong. You are not screwing over the baby. Have you tried any natural induction methods?

I just know everything will go wonderfully.

Good luck.

not unless you count cohosh, acupuncture, acupressure, sex, breast pumps, raspberry tea for three months, evening primrose oil, pineapple, eggplant Parmesan, massage, walking, lunges, diarrhea inducers, cinnamon and peppermint tea, homeopathics, moxa or chiropractic. like i said, every 'wives tale' ever invented has been tried. i dont actually think any of them work, i think people go into labor after doing them by coincidence. i also dont actually think any of them are natural, like i would never naturally take anything in my body as vile as black cohosh or sit and pump my tits when theres no baby to feed. i just wanted to stay away from the hospital. oh well. baby has no interest in crazy crappy outside world when he could party in a perpetual warm bath. cant really blame him. just the way it goes i suppose.

Wow you are one determined woman!

I'm sorry things aren't going as planned, but I am sure everything will go well, and you and your baby will be getting to know each other soon.

Good luck.

hang in there, kel. you've been doing an amazing job, and your endurance has been incredible. i'm so sorry it'll likely have to happen in a different way than you hoped, but it sounds like your midwife is amazing and will be able to help you keep control over the situation.

if at any point during labour you're like, "i really fucking want fried chicken, now!" or something, you guys know i can be your bitch, right? it's not a far walk to hsc from work or home.

i dont know if we'll be answering the phone that much but you can always try. even basic stuff like pasta or whatever, fried chicken. jake was saying he had made a bunch of food and froze it before beto came (which ive done) but the idea of defrosting anything was so incredibly exhausting that they would have starved if people hadnt left food on the the steps. (god that sounds ominous. yikes)
