I've recently said that I only like hanging out with single people. We're not one of those couples who only hangs out with other couples. We know a lot of couples, but when we actively propose hanging out with someone, it's most often a single person rather than a couple ( Read more... )

lol. sandy and i would probably bore you guys after 5 minutes. yup that's what settling down and having a family does to ya. i'm so stagnant, it's sad really. the biggest advice i have for you two is to wait awhile on having kids. even after you get married it is still so much easier to be spontaneous and do stuff and try new things. once you pop out a kid, all of that pretty much is over. you know what i get to look forward to at the end of the week, hanging out at target and costco. ya baby. we so rock...

i got a call from a friend Monday. we haven't talked in a couple months. he has a 2 1/2 year old, and i appreciated hearing the latest milestone in his son's life...first taste of candy, on Easter. he liked it, and asked for more while eschewing dinner that night. i have never thought about that moment in every person's life before...things like that need to be blogged, so his son can look back and "remember" what that was like. i doubt i know anyone today who can tell me what their first experience of candy was like.

What in interesting and very well-put post! I kinda snickered when you stated the part about the netflix queue..because that's what my life is like right now. Try adding a baby into the couples mix and voila.. instant homebodies. :) Enjoy your childless days as a couple for as long as you can, because you won't have those days again until you're retired! Man, that's depressing stating it that way. Though being single is exciting in its own right, being married and having kids is a whole different adventure that's definitely worthwhile.
