cross-country

I am moving from the SF bay area to NYC this weekend and I haven't packed anything yet. This is because it is a kind of move where I don't actually move anything. It is more of a re-habitation.

I am getting an apartment in NYbut keeping our loft in CA.

So I am leaving all our furniture here

and buying everything new there ( Read more... )

subletting in brooklyn first, but searching in manhattan for a lease. no idea which neighborhood i'll end up in!

let me know if you need some ideas for some adventures, good eats, etc.

to start, Battery Park City and along the West Side Highway is a great place to run. No stoplights :)

though i was born and raised here, as have 5 generations of my family before me, I never got a chance to explore and appreciate it till I returned from an 10 year hiatus in DC. i'm sure you'll have a great time here, even though your roots are undoubtedly 3000 miles away :)

that's how SF was for me. my mom treated SF as a day trip so i never went north of cupertino except on special occasions...until i returned after college and had my own car and salary!

thanks for the running tip. my first goal is just to run around the block without getting all red and huffy.
