If someone is "athletic", what does that mean in your brain?

generally fit due to activity. I don't generally think of organised sports, though, but of things like running, swimming, cycling. Possibly because I myself have always prefered more solitary sports (which is not meant to imply I think I'm in any way athletic).

When I see the word "athletic", the first image that pops into my mind is something like that amazing opening show at the last Olympics, with the Greek statues all in rows - very much the Greek Olympic ideal, all gilded white marble. The second image is of a dark-haired, brown-skinned woman running a marathon. I have no idea why; perhaps that's a picture that was burned into my subconcious mind at an early age.

The third thing that comes to mind is a vague sense of guilt, because whatever "athletic" is, it ain't me.

I think of someone with a gymnast's build.

In real life, that they not only exercise regularly but have some form of it that is pretty strenuous and that they consider themselves good at.

I think it has some secret meaning in personal ads, but I don't know what it is.
