Today was another hard day - but not as hard as yesterday. I managed to get up and go about my morning routine. Arriving at work, coffee helped (as it does)... but I really wasn't any definition of 'ok' until I read this tweet from Lin-Manuel Miranda:

Raison D'être
Dislike: waking up in the morning and not seeing a reason to get up.
Dislike more: not getting up.
I feel like this a lot in the morning - where my alarm goes off and I hit the snooze... and spend that 10 minutes looking for the reason to get up. I usually win this battle - turn on some music, think about going to the gym later or an important work ( Read more... ) -

I don't go in for New Year's Resolutions - my annual resolution is to not make any resolutions. But I do usually think of things to stop and/or start doing. I blame my software career and exposure to the Agile process for this. Every new year is like a retrospective - what did I like / not like about last year, and what should I change?

When I was a kid I suffered from a bout of childhood asthma... and then it resurfaced about 10 years ago, in the form of "exercised-induced asthma" (which always sounded to me like "you're out of shape but we don't want to make you feel bad, so we'll say you have asthma").
