Um, yeah. . . This would basically be the part where you say, "I told you so."

I have been thinking about you SOOO much. . . I have been busy with it since monday because tonksnymphadora and I took a writers class.

But, yes. . . You were basically right about everything. . .

::note to self-never question publishing advice from madam_minnie :: I need to call you, we need to have a long, long talk. . . Really, we need to touch base next week. Did you know 30% of ALL samhain's sells are m/m. . . Thats whoa. . .

Hee! Yes, I'm on their mailing list and have been for a few years. I truly love their authors, two of my faves are the ones I had you read! ;) lj_langley and ally_blue.

We totally need to get together! This weekend's busy and next weekend we move but maybe we can meet up during the week for dinner after work. IM me on iChat via your iPhone and we can coordinate schedules. :D

What's selling--m/m, erotica, paranormal and African American romances--the trend I am seeing is that older, traditional romance writers are struggling in the market, where as writers that gear towards hotter, more chancy things are doing MUCH better.

This...pleases me. The next step is to get non-Af-Am readers to read Af-Am/MC romances and get the industry to stop marketing colored romances solely to colored folk...

And Ebooks are my homeys, but they don't necessarily have to be cheaper (which is what I hear from many consumers). Someone still spent a lot of time writing that book--they should be paid comparable to their efforts. It's still something I struggle with as I write and publish my own stuff. But if the story is good enough, people will shell out $$ to read it.

And, I hope this means you'll finish something and submit it it/publish it. I'm glad you were able to go to RT--it was just too damn expensive for me at this point in my life. Maybe next year.

Okay, so I was sitting in on an erotica panel (I know, not your gig, but hear me out) and one of the black women on the panel (There were two white women and two black women, dunno if accidental or on purpose, but L.A. Banks was there and she is awesome times whoa. . . So reading her stories, but I regress) and she was saying that she used to write for Ellora's cave, but that a big time publisher emailed her, wanting to see her stuff (she said she thought she was being punked) and she now writes for New York, totally main stream and the thing is. . . She writes all Af-Am/MC stories, just like yours (except, like, um. . . way dirtier, but I don't think that matters). I was so excited, I went up after the panel and told her about you and I gathered her flyers and everything ( ... )

Girl, don't apologize! I really appreciate the info! Inspirational...I'll see. That's not exactly the same thing as Christian, but I believe you about the number of Af-Am writers.

Aw, you thought about me! *blushes*

You continue to have fun there. LA Banks is definitely good people. I hope you meet plenty more!

We'll talk!

Awesome, Kele!

Your stuff is very worthy of being published! (And you know I'm more than happy to help in whatever way I can.)

I love my books, so I might have a hard time switching entirely to e-books, I'd certainly try it out if it was the only way I could get my eyes on your work though. (I really think books should be published on recycled paper...more people should make a stink about that.)

Funny ... I am actually thinking of ditching my werewolf stuff. . . it doesn't seem to fit anywhere or anything. . .

*is speechless*

But...

*pouts*

Why does everyone think everything needs to "fit" somewhere? Isn't this how new genres get started?! Things like that are called "groundbreaking," NO?!

Someone back me up here! Please!

I am definitely getting into e-books. Not only are they less expensive, but *whispers* if you don't like one you can just delete it. Not that I would because both ebooks I've purchased in the last month have been written by f-listies!

I look forward to reading/purchasing an e-book from YOU some day. Soon.

*snorts loudly* As if anything you wrote would suck. Honey, you're one amazing writer. And I'd always read something by you.

I hear you on the house being eaten by books. I seem to be living out that quote from someone about when I have a little money, I buy books. Problem is I spend waaaaay too much on the books. Argh.
