Ok, here is another shoe rant. Zappos.com apparently sells "couture" shoes, designed by people who get their names mentioned on Project Runway all the time. Looking around for cheap-ish ballroom shoes, I came across this. Wow, footwear mass produced by the Chinese proletariat! And they specify the type of animal the leather came from - always a main point for me when I shop. Why do I feel like buying shoes off the back of a truck would be more legimate and ethical?

fashion emergency?
Help! I am a bit perplexed about the fashion concept known as jorts aka jean shorts. Apparently these are considered a fashion paux-pas. Are they only unacceptable on men? Because you know the juniors' departments in every store are crammed with jean shorts of a feminne nature (ie just long enough to prevent indecent exposure arrests.)
