I spent the last five days on a cruise from Mobile, Alabama, to Cozumel, Mexico. It was for my dad's fiftieth birthday, but somewhere down the line it fell victim to my older sister's crusade to make everything about her. (She won't argue with this; "But it is all about me!" she'd say

I was wondering where you went--I thought you might have "gone dark" like you talked about doing.

It's nice that your family got to do something for you dad's fiftieth, though--we did absolutely nothing for either of my parents' fiftieths. Like, maybe we went out to eat or something. Didn't even have a party. Did I mention my family is totally boring?

So, was any part of the cruise worth taking from your perspective? I've never been on a cruise.
