My reasons for not being religious/believing in God are theological, not political (i.e. in opposition to sexism or homophobia) or ethical (I think my religion's morals are unacceptable-I don't think that).* But I have somewhere between "no" and "very little" problem with what you seem to be advocating in terms of human behavior, even if I would, ah, characterize certain aspects of it differently. Honestly there is a lot more out there than most folks think. Christianity has had a number of serious and challenging intellectual heavyweights. It pains me that the most widely listened too voices are both ignorant and backwards.
