I've accepted a job with Motorola, in Boxborough. It is a small office, under 100 people. It was a startup called Broadbus until Motorola bought it last fall. They make Video On Demand systems for cable companies. I will be working with a 5 person verification team, and 4 RTL designers who are all in the same building. I've managed to convince several people to come with me and climb Mt Nancy in New Hampshire this weekend. ha! Apparently the Nancy that it's named after chased her boyfriend up to a logging camp after he left without saying goodbye. I saw the Banff Mountain Film Festival tour at the Regent Thurs night. It's a little sampler of the movies from the festival, with a very loose mountain theme. So some of them are sports, nature documentaries, cartoons, etc. ( more )

A Spot of Bother (Mark Haddon) A british comedy about a father coming to grips with his mortality and a family figuring themselves out. It will probably be made into a movie at some point, it has that kind of familiar plot.
