Zombie Apocalypse

The protagonists of the last three things you read/watched/played are the members of your zombie apocalypse team. How screwed are you?

* "Freakonomics" started watching this on Thursday and finished tonight... Two economists talk about the secret ways data and motivation work...not so great for fighting back, but might be useful for sifting through ( Read more... )

I WIN!

Castle. The zombie episode.
The Daily Show (Ok, so Jon Stewart's probably only good for zombie fodder, but the next one? Totally makes up for it...)
The Diamond Throne. (Pretty sure Sparhawk and Co. can handle a few zombies.)

The mentalist *tv show* (ok... so they are a police dept & have a lot of guns)

Ender's game *book* (really helpful if I have a space ship to escape the earth... also a genious kid is helpful to have in solving problems.

The Importance of Being Earnest (read) (absolutely no help whatsoever... in fact... the opposite of help in a Zombie invasion.) maybe humor... humor helps with stress? maybe?

- The Importance of Being Earnest - I think you may also get bogged down in British societal standards from the time period...and a lot of people trying to be clever at each other but not really saying what they mean....yes, I think that's not much help, unless the humor helps the mentalist or the genius kid...

..no wait...I'm trying to imagine the mentalist dealing with Oscar Wilde's characters, and just failing...

Dude. I have the Doctor.

...And two other people. But really, the Doctor is all you need in the Zombocalypse.

I think I'm pretty good as far as the Zombie Apocalypse goes because the protagonist of one of the last stories I read is a Bolo, an autonomous AI controlled armored tank with enough armor to survive direct nuclear hits and enough weapons and ammo to drive the entire Chinese army back across the border.

He was turned to slag, but when the radiation cooled enough to retrieve the AI and they asked it "Why did you keep advancing when you knew you would be destroyed," it responded "for the honor of the Regiment."

Yep... I'm all set for the Zombies.

Heh. What I'm getting out of this, is my friends watch and read a lot of Scifi. Which I knew but I still find comforting to see proof of that.

On a slightly unrelated note, have you ever checked out the Aussie band Tripod?

Tripod are alright. They're not Weird Al or Jonathon Coulton. I find they like to do a lot of "set up" before the punch line. Like their Christmas song "I hate your Family."
