Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2: Seeking the truth
Changmin walked to the library where he knew the other would be at this time. He remembered this was also the place where he first met him. He needed to talk to him about Yoochun. His instincts told him that his friend could be the one Yoochun had been looking for. He walked into the library, looking around, saw that his friend’s things were on the table but the person was not in his seat, he must be at one of the shelves. He walked to the shelves to see whether he can find his friend. He spotted him and moved quickly to reach him before he could disappear again.
“Junsu, I need to speak to you about something.” He called softly. His friend turned when he heard his name being called. He closed the book in his hand and waits for Changmin to reach him.
“What do you want to talk about?” Junsu asked in curiosity, what was so urgent that Changmin had to seek him out at the library? They would normally see each other in the library anyway since this was one of their favourite places in the school.
“Can we find somewhere private?” Changmin asked, looking around the library, though there wasn’t that much students around, he didn’t want anyone to hear their conversation. Junsu nodded and motioned the other to follow him into one of the reading rooms.
“What is it you wanted to talk about?” Junsu took a seat and waited for the other to sit down before asking. It was unlike Changmin to seek him out and request to speak privately.
“Are you gay?” Junsu arched an eyebrow at that question and a small smile played on his lips. He was confused and amused. What brought this on?
“This is not coming out right.” Changmin admitted sheepishly. Junsu did not say anything only waited for him to recompose himself.
“Did you sleep with Yoochun on Friday?” Changmin asked directly not wanting to beat around the bush. He noted the lack of surprise from the other, was he expecting this question?
“I don’t think that came out right too and why are you asking me these questions? Why would I have anything to do with that player?” Junsu asked, his face expressionless when he answered. Junsu was never an easy one to read for Changmin. Though he knew him for a while now, he still finds it difficult to read the other guy.
“Why did you come to the party on Friday?”
“I was invited.” Answering the question yet not divulging anything more.
“By who?”
“A friend.”
“Which friend?”
“Is it any of your concern?” This time the tone clearly indicates that Changmin had overstepped his boundaries and is intruding though you can’t tell from the expression Junsu had on.
“Junsu, did you sleep with Yoochun?” Changmin asked again, he felt he was getting nowhere with his questions since Junsu seems to be evading them expertly.
“I thought the correct term was did I have sex with Yoochun?” Junsu said.
“Did you?” Changmin asked, he thought he had finally managed to break through that resolve of Junsu when he said that but the next moment it was squashed again.
“Is it any of your business whether I did or not?” Again the mask came down.
“I know I have no business asking you something that private but Yoochun is looking for his mysterious lover of Friday night who disappear on him.”
“That’s something new. I thought you said he only go in for one-night stands, why is he looking for the person then?” This time, Junsu showed a bit more interest. Was he afraid that Yoochun would come and look for him?
“I don’t know. He has been restless recently and this person apparently intrigue him enough that he wants to find him again.”
“Well, I can only wish him the best in finding him.” Junsu replied, standing up to leave, signaling the end of their conversation.
“Wait. Junsu, please, was it you?” Changmin pleaded with his friend, grabbing his hand to prevent him from leaving. Junsu stared at the hands that were on his own before Changmin released his grip.
“Why do you think it was me?” Junsu asked, clearly curious.
“First you ask me about Yoochun before the party and then you appear at the party. I saw you with him that night and now he is talking about his lover from that night who has a high pitched raspy voice. It’s too much of a coincidence for me to think this was just a random party that you came to.” Changmin rationalized.
“If I say yes, I was the one who slept with him. What are you going to do? Tell him about me?” Junsu asked, all smiles though you could tell it was not real since it doesn’t touched his eyes.
“Yes, give me one good reason not to tell him. He’s a good friend of mine.” Changmin tried to bluffed his way through it but he knew the other was not fooled by his statement from the way the smile got bigger on his face. He always knew that the other was a tough one and it shows.
“I don’t think so. If you really wanted to tell him, you would have done so already, why are you here asking me all these questions? It’s because you are not sure whether it was me.” Junsu said, knowing the other was just bluffing and the expression on his face when he was caught was priceless.
He knew he was beaten when he heard the other’s reply but he wanted to know the reason so he asked. “Why Yoochun?” Junsu was an attractive guy and there were many people who would give anything to get the guy in bed, it’s just that he had never seen interested in any of them so why Yoochun?
“Why not? Isn’t he well known for his sexual prowess? You said that people were clamouring to get into bed with him. Isn’t that a good enough reason?” Junsu said. Changmin knew this maybe the only admission he will get from Junsu that he was the one. He had no idea whether his friend was telling the truth or just half-truths to throw his scent from the real reason.
“It might be for some but I know you, you’re not the type to go for this kind of one-night stand, Junsu.”
“Changmin, you’re a good friend but there are still many things you don’t know about me.” Junsu sighed as he said that, one of the rare times that Changmin seen him with his guards down.
“Junsu, then tell me why.” He knows his friend must have a reason for doing what he does but he can’t understand it.
“Maybe in future.” Junsu finally said.
“Yoochun is looking for you and I don’t think he will give it up that easily.” Changmin warned the other.
“You don’t have to worry for me. We don’t go around in the same circles. I doubt he will find me as long as you don’t said anything to him. Even if he does, what can he do to me?” Junsu said, looking at the other, waiting for his agreement to the statement.
“You know I won’t say anything.” Changmin reluctantly agreed, the other knew he would not betray his confidence. It’s not that Yoochun is not a good friend but he know nothing good will come out from him finding out about Junsu. The two of them were as different as day and night, yes they enjoyed a night of sex with each other but that’s all there could be. He didn’t want to be caught in the game the two were playing. Hopefully, Yoochun’s attention will have diverted to something else by then and he will forget about this in a few days when he still can’t find anything about his mysterious lover.
“Thank you.” Junsu smiled his thanks and left the room. Changmin slouched deeper into his seat. He knew the other was right, Yoochun would not be able to find Junsu if he didn’t want to be found. They were both second year students in the university but Yoochun had no idea of the existence of Junsu. It’s true that they don’t run around with the same crowd since Junsu doesn’t like to go to parties, preferring the company of his friends and books.
With Junsu’s beauty (unlike Jaejoong but still pretty enough to garner attention from both sexes but he had never shown any interest so it was a shock to know that he slept with Yoochun though Junsu never did said he was gay) and intelligence (one of the top students in his year), it was still a mystery to him how Yoochun, the well-known player could be so oblivious to his existence, since Junsu was most definitely Yoochun’s type if he had one. He had to give the other credit for his ability to stay so low keyed. However even if Yoochun did found out that his mysterious lover was Junsu, getting near the guy would be another issue. He shuddered at his own memory. He could only wished his friend all the best in his search.

Junsu went back to the table to pack his things, he don’t think he could stayed there any longer after the conversation with Changmin. He had not thought that his friend would found out so soon. Why did Park Yoochun the famous player in school suddenly wanted to know more about his lover? He had never done that before. It was one of the main reasons Junsu chose him. Why is everything going wrong?
“Su, what are you thinking about?” a voice called out. He turned and grinned when he saw his childhood friend, Eunhyuk coming towards him. He could always count on the other to draw him out of his moods.
“Nothing. Let’s go.” He didn’t want to dwell on the issue, hoping that this will blow over soon enough.

However things doesn’t always turned out the way you hoped for. Within a week, the news that Park Yoochun, the popular player was looking for his lover from the party before was all over school. Gossips and rumours were abound on what really happened.
“I feel like a freak.” Yoochun said to his friends as he joined them for lunch, eyes were following his every movement.
“I thought you like the attention?” Yunho asked, curious as to why his friend is resentful of the looks thrown his way now.
“This is the price you have to pay for being such a popular student.” Changmin remarked.
“Micky, still no luck on finding they guy?” Jaejoong asked, concern for his friend when he sees the dark circles under his eyes. Yoochun shakes his head.
“Come to the party at Stephanie’s house on Friday, maybe your mysterious guy might turn up. Jae and I are going.” Yunho suggested, hoping a party would bring Yoochun out of his mood.
“How about you, Min?” Jaejoong asked the youngest.
“No thanks. I want to hit the books this weekend.” Changmin replied. He wanted a break from all the talk on the mysterious guy; it was draining for him to have to act ignorant of everything and hitting the books were a good way for him to keep his mind off these things.
“Is something troubling you?” Jaejoong asked Changmin, he was always quiet but recently he just seemed more, keeping to himself more often.
“Yah, you have been real quiet recently.” Yunho seconded the opinion.
“What can I say? I don’t know that many people and I don’t think I would be any help to Micky since the ones I know are most probably not the type to sleep with him anyway.” Changmin explained, keeping his fingers crossed under the table for the lies he had to tell.
“True. Even if you know any smart hotties, I think our Micky here would have already debauched them too.” Yunho said.
“Hey! I do have some taste ok. I don’t just go for anything.” Yoochun complained.
“Hyung, that’s why you are wrong, if they’re smart, they would have known not to get involved with Micky in the first place.”
“So what are you going to do now? Give up or continue the search?” Jaejoong asked.
“I don’t know.” Yoochun sigh, he had no idea why he had to find the guy, he just felt that there was something. Maybe he should go to this party, he might forget about this guy if he meets someone new.
“I’ll go to the party, but you guys have to make sure that I don’t get drunk like last Friday again.”
“Fine, we will make sure you get home safely this time.” Yunho promised. Changmin was glad that Yoochun agreed to go to the party with the other two, maybe it would help him forget about his mysterious lover.
