I'm back from Dragon*Con!

Omg I miss it already.

I had an amazing time and just so you know, I asked EJO THAT question :)

I asked him firstly if he thought that there were any aspects of Laura Roslin and William Adama that current politicians could learn from. His reply was to laugh and go 'Yeah!' and then he started talking about how great Mary ( Read more... )

It's not for certain but he was asked who he would bring from the cast of BSG next year and he said he thought Mary would enjoy it and he would try to get her to come along and after all, he said, he managed to get Michael Hogan to come to Dragon*Con this year and he really didn't want to come but he had a great time. So hopefully that means he'll have no trouble convincing Mary that Dragon*Con is the place to be :) Here's hoping she comes next year because I will be there! I don't care how much I have to work, she is my favourite actress and just getting to see her on a panel at a convention would be awesome.

I was at that panel too! Thanks for asking that question. It led to some of the best news of the weekend--that he'll try to get Mary to come next year. I cosplayed Roslin on Sunday and judging from people's reaction to that, folks would go crazy over her at D*C. (Though she might want to stay away from the Mad Scientist party, as I was groped several times on the President's behalf by drunk fanboys--didn't stay at that party very long.) Anyhow, thanks for asking a really cool question. I loved the bit about Mary laughing. I think we need to see that for ourselves.

Did you see the Roslin at the colonial party, the one who dressed up as season 4 Laura with the scarf on her head? She was pretty close to looking like Mary McDonnell! I think it was the eyes, whatever she did with her make-up worked. My friends and I watched them all pose for a picture and she was certainly the nearest to looking just like the character.

Mad Scientist party, I'll remember that one for next year LOL! :) We were going to go to the Harry Potter party but by that point we were all shattered and ended up watching panels on the TV instead :)

Fingers crossed Mary comes next year!

I did see her. She had a perfect Mary nose. There was also a dead on Adama as we were coming in. We didn't stay at the Fleet party too long. We'd gotten up super early to get everyone dressed for the parade--we were with the Doctor Who folks.

And I will have my fingers crossed for the next 12 months, you can count on it.

I loved the parade! I took pictures, I'll see if I have any of the Dr Who section :)

I didn't see the Adama when we were there, but EJO apparently turned up at the party! DAMMIT! I was;n't there because we were all really tired and left.

But it was an awesome time! I can't wait for next year!

Woot!
Thanks for sharing all that - your post is just so happy and bouncy, and was a joy to read. In fact I read it three times over during my lunch break :-)

Ed impersonating Mary giggling has now been posted as you may or may not know already by now.
You might be catching up on sleep or still so much on cloud nine that you can't settle to anything as yet! :-)

Woot, woot! &hearts

Thank you :) I saw the clip had been posted and I was so pleased! I watched it several times already, then I crashed out and fell asleep for nine hours! It was fantastic! Now I'm awake and back to my original state of 'Eeeeeeeeee!A/R!!!!!' This convention reawakened my love for A/R. It was on a back burner recently because it's been off TV and my flist has been a little quiet, but now I'm right back to obsessed A/R fan mode :D

Glad you are catching up on some sleep :-)

I hear you! My A/R love was sort of on the back burner too, but just reading about the Con, reading what Eddie said in print, and hearing it via clips, well, even vicariously, I am now in a state of excitement and contentment, so I can only imagine what you must be like - feeling tenfold what I am, at least! :-)

It is pretty awesome. But even if I'd just heard it online, I think I'd be going pretty crazy right now with love for A/R.::sighs::

And if they continue to make those little movies they've been talking about, maybe...just maybe I might be able to hold onto BSG for a little longer than I thought.

Oooo, and maybe in the future they'll manage to do something after Caprica? I'm holding out hope for that show and if they did decide to carry on through Caprica and back to the beginning of BSG, so they could include the backstories of each BSG character, I wouldn't complain. After all, this has all happened before and it'll all happen again. If they want to do BSG with the same cast, all over again, I wouldn't mind one bit. It would actually be rather cool if they did it all over again but slightly differently, wow, I wish a tv show would do that. It would be such a cool idea if done right.
