I hit a patch of black ice on Friday night and actually broke a bike helmet for the first time. I went down so fast that i didn't have time to let go of my handlebars and just went face first into the pavement... cracked the helmet at the left temple and got a sweet little road kiss on my cheek bone (no road rash, luckily, just a gnarly contusion

Suckage. I know how that goes.

I went down on black ice Friday night and landed on rib that I'd badly injured at the beginning of the week. Also, landed on my cellphone hard enough to put a tennis-ball size contusion on my hip. And manage to bash my right temple on something, and nose still sore from getting hit in the face sometime this week.

Yeh. A bit battered and bruised. Sad I didn't make it to Bikes Inside, but ran out of time on Saturday.

Whoa, yeah. I also find that the true pain and stiffness of a crash takes about 2 days to set in, so I felt battered but okay enough to really give 'er on Saturday night, and then last night was in so. much. pain. Can't lift my arms over my head, my whole left arm and leg just hurt, knots in my back the size of cats. Ugh. I hate feeling incapacitated and whiney :P

hey, i have a question, and you might have an answer...
theres some sort of bike attachments for babies...
what is the safest and best for my road bike and Torrin?
I was told about one that is also a stroller? whats the name of such one, and where can i find it cheap?

I will do some research for you... a couple of my coworkers have little ones they tote around by bike. I've seen the stroller/trailer... can't remember what it's called but I'll inquire!

you're a total badass for riding all winter Leanne! I've been walking everywhere for the past month! do you have metal studs on your tires?

no metal studs - usually the weather is just cold and wet and a little slippery... the past week has been pretty crazy. Vancouver just very good at keeping streets clear in bad weather... when I winter-rode in Montreal, the winter was so much more intense but the roads were kept clear and bone dry. Here the snow melts and then freezes and there's no salt on the side roads, really, to keep the ice from forming... meh.
Sooooo many people I know ate shit on Friday, so I don't feel lonely :)

I had a dream with you in it this morning. Basically I was a tiger that was escaping from a witch. So there was a lot of chasing and running away and the i bumped in to you. You where riding a bike and told me you knew where I could hide. So you biked up this crazy steep hill with me following and took me to a cabin where these three old ladies lived. Then I dreamt that I woke up and phoned you to tell you about it. Then I woke up for real.

It was awesome. Thanks for saving me from the crazy witch.
