If you're referring to Seth (and I have to assume you are), nope, he wasn't involved in that. Though, if he knows about it, I'm sure he wishes he was.

October 1!!!!!!!!!!!! I am proud of my office, for I have seen no gourds or leaves, but this morning there ARE already bats, cobwebs, and black roses. :)

Also, that macro...eeee, it totally is spot on.

I need a TARDIS bumper sticker.

I...don't get the street signs thing. WTF? How does this help anything?

That Gatz production was here in Boston recently. I didn't see it, but a friend who did said it was an impressive feat but not particularly enjoyable.

I think it may depend on one's love of the source material.

The Great Gatsby is pretty much my favorite book ever, and means a great deal to me.

I don't know what your friend's relationship to the book is, so their MMV.

Please tell me why you love the book. I hated it (and, on an unrelated note, I also hated Catcher in the Rye) but might give it another try with adequate prodding.

Well, for starters, I read it on my own, before having to read it for class. I find a lot of books are utterly fucking ruined by the high school English class experience.

Secondly, I was familiar with a lot of the locations mentioned, so I had a soft spot there already.

Lastly, it's such a fantastic story about how outsiders, even when they manage to create themselves in their own image, surround themselves in the trappings of The Right Folk, are still fucking outsiders, and how that affects them.

It's also a brutal love story that has always spoken to me.

For years, I've had an essay brewing comparing James Gatsby to Severus Snape.
