on Saturday I went climbing in the morning w/ some friends. At lunch afterwards we were all drinking water from the bottle on the table (french restaurant where they refill the bottle) and all 3 people filled up their own water glasses without ever offering to do mine

It's hard not to take that kind of thing personally. But people can just be oblivious, I guess. Or- they are geeks and think that if you wanted water you would have filled it up yourself (as they have lame social skills). :)
