So as the summer burns on, the life I had been carefully sculpting for 22 years is slowly melting away into a liquidy goo. It's taken me a few months (and will take me a few months still) to fully realize that this isn't necessarily a bad thing ( Read more... )

Its good to see that you've broken out of the "Standard" mould and are carving out your own life. You live your own life, the way it makes you happy, and share with those whom You want to share with. Sadly in order to interact with the rest of the mundane world on a regular basis without conflict we all have to keep a thin vernier up around those people who Are of the standard mold, but outside of that and within your private life you are free to do whatever you want to make you happy! Not your parents, Not your peers, but You!

Keep on going: It sounds like you are well on your way to living a Great and Furry life!!!

Wow, that was an incredible piece of writing, truly inspired. I can relate to some aspects of your post, only I feel like I am in an earlier much more uncertain stage. I haven't a clue as to what I even want to do when I graduate in a few months. I've found someone to love far from home where people question why I am even here. Though as far as it may seem for you, you are lucky both of you are in the same state, and not in different countries, 8 timezones away like me and my bf.
Anyhow, all of the really successful and happy people that have given me advice have said that you should go after what you are passionate about, what you really want in life and not what will just make you the most money. Money can't buy long term happiness but if you are lucky, love can.
I'm just babbling here though. You probably know far more than I do about life. You're writing is very good though, please write more!
