First wave shot down...
Well.. got news that JET has upgraded all that they will from the initial "no" answers to accepting a short-listed position. I guess I will still hang around and see what happens. There is words going around that another wave of upgrades happen when people drop out after knowing their placements. To be honest I think that is lousy to do because ( Read more... ) -

.. I emailed the consulate asking if they could give me any indication of how my chances are at being upgraded to being an ALT and I haven't heard back. My imagination can think up extravagant scenarios and the one I have been thinking of is maybe they are about to offer me an upgrade and I kind of beat them to the punch before the dust settles. So this may be the way things are for now. An alternate with nowhere to go yet. The alternate ride has just begun though, so I will hang in there. I am not going to put my life on hold though. A classic
Just saw the classic Michael Caine movie, Get Carter. I can see why it was a good film for its time. Kind of cool to see Caine pissed off and taking names. I am glad to move that movie from the "need to watch" column to the "watched" column. -
Damn It!!
Why am I plagued so? I had another dream that I was going into JET last night. I pretty much convinced myself that if I don't get upgraded this upcoming week, my chances go waaay down. No.. MST3K didn't do Harry Potter, but the same people now do rifftrax. You play an audio commentary track while watching the movie. I chuckled a few times.. like Hagrid looking for hookers. "I see your just where I left you and you didn't use my blinding to your advantage at all." lol -
FBI Check for JET
I just got my FBI background check back, or what I think is the background check because I am supposed to send it sealed to the JET office. I sent an email to the contact in the Boston consulate asking if I should keep it and only send it to them if I get upgraded ( Read more... ) -

I have been thinking of Japan again and as of now I have a revised opinion. It would be cool if I got into JET, but all the shit in my life is finally turning that bend. I have a good feeling
I have a feeling that if I don't get onto the short list for JET within the next month, I won't get in at all. I really don't want to miss out on orientation with a position opening up too late. New Bleach Opening 10
My Lord this opening drips of a 70s homage to Charlies Angels. Does anyone else see why I am thinking this? It is very blunt if you are familiar at all with Charlies Angels. All in all I like the song, not too much the opening itself because it is heavy on stills.. but then again the previous opening had a fair amount of them too. I crack up ( Read more... )
