It suddenly occurs to me that it’s almost July, and I haven’t done a darn thing when it comes to reading the Hugo nominees. Not sure where I am going to find the energy or motivation...

I'm skipping them this year. Nothing I read was nominated and I haven't gotten a chance and won't get a chance this summer to read any of them. Too much going on so no need to bring additional stress to my life. I think you can take a similar pass.

I may do the same, although I hate to do it this year of all years.

I didn't really bother putting much energy into it myself to be honest.

For the short fiction, I just read the first few pages of everything (except JCW) and if it didn't work for me I stopped. I ended up voting No Award for all three categories, even the one or two non-Puppy choices.

Novels were easier as I read all but Goblin Emperor and the KJA. With KJA I read two chapters and put it down.

As I think you read more than anyone I know, if even you weren't inspired to put much energy into it, I feel better about my own lack of inspiration.
