Backdating... as usual. revengeisalie October 21 2009, 16:38:26 UTC
You know, you've got a point right there. As for myself... if you look at it as a whole, my life here is actually more peaceful than that at home, I think...

I guess what makes it bad is also the sheer strangeness. Humans fear what they don't know, and that.

A great country... well, honestly, I'm not sure. I mean, sure, I can say a great country would be one where no one was poor and everyone respected each other's lives, but that's more like an ideal country. A great country... well, for starters, maybe a country where no single party is allowed to commit atrocities that others can't defend themselves against.

My life is also simpler and more peaceful here than back in Kei. I'm afraid of losing my touch sometimes.

That makes sense, Rin. What is the most strange for you? The curses or the technology?

That ideal country would be similar to the kingdoms of En or Sou for what I know of the latter. Six hundred years and more of prosperity. Atrocities for you it would be important like a country without tyrants?

Haha, I guess? Me, I'm just mostly... always worried about things back home, so even if my life here is more peaceful, I can rarely really relax.

Well, hmm... that's a tough one. Actually, maybe the technology. The curses are pretty strange, but, well... there's that thing in my homeworld...

What, seriously? En... isn't that... Shouryuu-san's and Rokuta-kun's country?

Yes, for example. Or... well, maybe even stuff like what happens here. The worse things. Or like... killers who never meet their punishment...

You can't help but worrying yourself, I do that too. When I was in Kou, I also thought about my home in Tokyo. But I can't say that trip was relaxing.

That... thing? Curses? I was guessing it was technology because people expect you to know it while you come from a pre-industrial timeline.

Yes, it's their kingdom. Rokuta complains too much about En-Ou's performance as ruler, but their lands are stable and beautiful.

People who elude the law. I think I know what you mean.

You did, huh... I'm glad I at least have a certain prospect of getting back.

Well, curses would be pretty outlandish in my world, too... except, you know, my bodyguard is immortal.

Yeah, I think I talked to him about it once, even... well, I did hear they ruled for five hundred years... that only happens if the ruler is actually doing things right in that world, if I remember correctly... right?

Yes.

So are you asking this because of your task?

You will face your obstacles and be successful. I know that. You're a strong person, Rin.

Yeah, I know. So are most people in the apartment. I guess is your fate to hang out with us.

You got everything right there. That only happens if you don't stray out Tentei's Way.

...I'll try to rule a country where criminals are punished by their transgressions.

To tell the truth, I ask because I don't have a clear idea what makes a great kingdom, I know the general idea, but I don't know how will that apply in Kei. I'm staying awake thinking about my Inaugural Rescript and the path I want my kingdom to take but my mind goes blank.

... thanks. And I know you'll do the same.

Well, I don't terribly mind as long as I don't have to stick your limbs back on too often.

Right, gotcha.

And I'm sure you'll do it, too.

... Inaugural Rescript... ?

Hmm. Well, I can't say I really know how you're feeling, but it does seem like an awfully huge task. Easy to lose orientation.

I don't think we can stick our limbs back on, but it's rare for us to lose them?

Unless you got a winter-weapon handy, I mean.

The Inaugural Rescript is the first proclamation made by the new rulers, new laws can't be promulgated until then. So I'm kinda lost.

It's easy to lose the Way, that's why there's no room for gross mistakes.

... well, then that sets you apart from Manji.

Winter-weapon?
