87th Journey

Unlike my friend Rokuta's possible sentiments, I believe that sometimes you cannot avoid bloodshed. Live your life just running away from conflict won't make them disappear. It's a sad reality to resign at, but as long there's unrest, warfare is necessary to protect the greater good and its interests. For this I'm extremely grateful to those who ( Read more... )

Actually, I agree that sometimes bloodshed cannot be avoided. Still, that curse was unnecessary. I do understand that going along with it and fighting was needed, in so far as it's just another situation that can come up. The only difference is that it wasn't brought about by something I'd call "natural", but that matters little when one's own life or that of someone dear is at stake.

Hah -- yeah, that was "creative", for sure.

(OOC: Uhh, pretend Rin knew about Youko's birthday. And got her some chocolate and a scarf in purple and green.)

I don't know if it's "natural" or not. Some people had their minds twisted and affected, but by some others (like me) they weren't. Some are waiting just the chance to strike, Rin. It shows the true colors... I guess. If it's just another way to make us suffer or has an actual lesson in there, I don't know.

I'm so glad I didn't have to give explanations to my generals about the Ever-King's army strategy when we fought outside.

By the way, thanks for the present.

I know. I believe I talked to someone who wanted to take advantage of the situation. I was against it, precisely because some people weren't in their right minds.

But I don't hold it against you or anything like that.

That would've been pretty complicated, huh?

Nothing to thank for! That goes without saying.

Who did you talk to?

I didn't accept the help of those who weren't clearly... acting violent during the curse. I'm not that kind of person, you know.

They already think I'm an useless little girl. If the Ever-King pulled something like that I'm going to bet they would believe it was my idea.

You? Really?

But then... men do have a tendency of looking down on you if you're young and female.

Xemnas. I had the pleasure to talk to him too. I don't know if he wasn't cursed out of his mind, though.

It's not that, uhh, not completely. The fact I'm young and female do make the factors, but only because my predecessors who were bad rulers were all females and the long lasting enlightened ruler was a king, Tatsu-Ou. En-Ou explained that if it was in Kyou, for example, a male ruler would have the same problems I got for being a girl in Kei because they had had good empresses and bad kings.

Besides I can't fully blame them I am ignorant of their way of life, Rin.

That's true. Him wanting to take advantage of the situation doesn't really exclude him being cursed, too.

Oh, I see! ... empresses are a common thing over there?

I guess that's true - you did come from an entirely different background. But that's not really your fault, either, you know.

There's no way to know it because I don't know that man. But we fought.

Genders aren't an issue? It's weird, but that's how it is. It's mostly what experience they got before. Bad luck for me that wasn't a pleasant one.

I know, but I'm the empress, so I'm expected to know everything.

Me neither. This was the first time I spoke to him.
