I did a first impressions-ish thing for Robert two months ago! And then he became my spam whore. uh. oops. And while some people asked for relationship stuff in my essay meme, I didn't actually ... do a real one, and stuff has this tendency to change quickly with him. HAHA. HAHAHA. SO, HARUKA.

This is ... a little different for him! He's used to being feared by people - the humans in the tournament were afraid of him, he was seen as a threat by the townspeople, and my headcanon is that even after the tournament, he was never really accepted by his own kind because of what happened during the series. So having some nonhuman - and something like a tengu, no less! - come out and say that he could be a potential threat was not exactly surprising. He'd never had it in camp before, and if it had happened during his previous time here? He'd have flipped out and pretty much made it a self-fulfilling prophecy. As-is, he's had time to calm down and, well, be sane, so it wasn't as bad. Although it did hurt a bit ( ... )

Nnnnnothing really new from the essay meme? Although! Rabi did basically go out of his way to say "talk to me about things," which ... is a big deal for Robert. I'M SURE YOU KNOW ALL ABOUT THAT. So while Rabi doesn't have his trust completely yet, he's definitely getting there. Sloooowly but surely. That aside, he's good conversation and great for book recommendations whenever he's bored. ):

RAIMEI oh Raimei. I touched on this briefly in Rose's comment, but while Raimei strikes Robert as someone that's relatively sincere, he's still very, very cautious about letting her get close. Hence all the monosyllabic responses and whatnot! She's interesting enough that he'll keep talking to her and despite all his issues, I think he ... mm, does see Raimei as a friend. It's complicated. So at the same time, he doesn't really want to open up to her or really talk extensively about anything about himself, because then that leads to complicated things and it gets awkwaarrdddd.

And then there's that whole blahblah trusting humans blah trusting people in general blahblah. HE HAS ... ISSUES and that seems to be the general theme of this relationship meme. He's slowly growing out of them - he's made a lot of progress already, even! But it's, mm, difficult for him to really open up to people and get girls like Raimei, which leads him to shutting himself off during their conversations a lot. Not as much as he does with Emiri's ( ... )
