Niou. Fuji’s going to have to echo the sentiment of being somewhat wary and somewhat amused, though in his mind set, the latter outweighs the former by quite a bit. He’s aware of Niou’s reputation as a member of Rikkai (and seeing that pride show during their last conversation really amused him), and thus knows that the boy is not someone to be easily trifled with -- not to mention the other’s ability to take on personas and various voices (especially Tezuka’s D8) which actually annoys him more than he cares to admit. It’s fun if it’s the voices of people he can recognize, but it gets to be a little touchy if it falls into the categories of his teammates/people he’s holding grudges against/Atobe because Atobe is in a category all on his own. And if Niou ever imitates his younger brother, he’s quitting.
On the other hand, it’s nice to find someone with a sense of humour that’s more or less similar to his own, as well as the gall to actually act on some of the more interesting ideas. He likes those who can act on their word, and Niou is more or less someone like that. If nothing else, it keeps his interest, and that is more than enough for him at this point, especially stuck in a Rocket base with a somewhat unpleasant future rearing its head. More than that, he appreciates having someone from his home world, for it keeps him grounded, reminds him that he’s not a permanent visitor here and that nothing is permanent here; he shouldn’t invest emotionally in anything because it’s all going to turn up naught later on, and Niou’s his physical reminder of that. That’s probably why he tends to stick to the other -- it keeps him grounded.
It’s not hard to like Niou -- it’s just that his definition of like is more of a loose term he applies to people whom he finds interesting.
He doesn’t know a lot about the boy, however. This is particularly fueled by the timeline of his canonpoint, in which he was yoinked out of timeline long before his match with Niou, and thus he is entirely oblivious to what the other is truly capable of. Being the sort of person he is, he rarely takes Niou’s words for what they are, but he is laid-back enough to not really exercise proper caution. He likes Niou’s spontaneity, and is interested in what buttons he can uncover in order to poke and press at them relentlessly -- he is very interested in what makes Niou tick, and he’s more or less taken that on as a personal project of his to pass the time.

... Edgeworth, you’re kind of... weird to Fuji right now. He actually is not entirely sure how to deal with you, and this is confusing him a great deal. For one thing, while he’s friendly, he’s not exactly too fond to getting attached to people as a general rule. For another, it’s hard not to sympathize with you when you hit a lot of his pings. Your serious nature seriously reminds him of Tezuka -- especially that sense of duty and for the sake of others (just replace friends with ‘team’ and you pretty much have his mentality down pat) and that whole self-sacrificial thing. The only thing that you’re missing is a few inches, a pair of glasses and a permafrown.
There’s a lot to your personality that Fuji has yet to uncover, and he thinks of it like something of a puzzle -- except that it’s become clear after the second conversation that he’s starting to invest too heavily in this whole thing with your situation, and he feels... really bad about it, because he knows that he can’t commit to it. Commitment issues, you understand. He can sympathize and empathize but at the end of the day, he knows that you’ll have to walk alone. This really sucks, because he can really see a parallel between yourself and himself in terms of sibling dynamics. Siblings who hate you? Check. Siblings who compete often with you? Check. Siblings that you can’t underestand? Check. Siblings who used to be sweet but turned bitter after growing up some? Check. The similarities are all there, and it brings a bad taste to his mouth.
In a way, you are both easy and hard to understand. You are a decisive person, but that’s a trait that you share with Tezuka more than with himself, and Fuji can read Tezuka but can’t understand him. Essentially, he has somewhat of a grasp of the things you might do in certain situations, but he’s never been one to understand the martyr types, and you... are essentially a martyr in shota form. It makes him both uncomfortable and a little sad, and he wants to tell you to stop, only he knows better than that.
All in all, it’s just a conflict of interests. He more or less wants to see you through this, but he also feels viscerally uncomfortable about the whole situation because technically, he could just up and disappear at any time, and just... yeah. Connections aren’t worth it in that case.
In terms of interactions, he enjoys speaking with you, because you are earthly and more or less grounded, and you take his teasing well. It also helps that you’re willing to go philosophical and metaphorical with him, which makes him very happy because he likes waxing on random things sometimes and likes it when people humour him. He enjoys your company.

Oh my god Daisuke. His most favorite person to tease, ever. Fuji is the kind of person who absolutely loves interesting reactions, and yours probably take the cake forever. This only makes him want to tease you more, and that’s never, ever a good thing. Daisuke, you’ll probably never be free of him. On the bright side, he’s watching out for you. The fact is that you showed up in Mahogany more or less in the same state he did, which pretty much means that you’re a Rocket, and he doesn’t think it’s a good thing for a innocent kid like you to be anywhere near these... criminals. He’s already marked you out for potential trouble to come, and he wants to prevent that as much as possible -- after all, you’re the first one he met here in Route, and he’s always been particularly sentimental that way.
In this, if you ever decide to break out of Rocketdom, Fuji will probably do all he can to support you and that venture. However, he finds your Freudian slip on the... walking through doors thing to be somewhat fascinating, and because he’s the sort of person he is, he generally considers that to be a sign that you’re probably more than you let on. ... not that that changes much of his perception of you, really. Fuji is the kind of person who is chill with whatever situation, and he can appreciate a little secrecy. He’ll just tease you until it stops being interesting.
He honestly worries about your well-being, sometimes, though. This is because, at the core of everything, Fuji is an older brother, and you just give off younger-brother vibes. This makes him uneasy.

First of all -- best banter buddy, ever. Despite Fuji actually being a genuinely nice and affectionate guy under all that teasing, he has trouble making connections with others because he just doesn't get it -- it's one of those things that he thinks on forever and that he can predict to a certain degree, but he just can't seem to understand. Rise is, at the same time, both incredibly easy to talk to and incredibly hard for him to wrap his mind around. However, her personality makes it easy for him to fall into a pattern of teasing that he's entirely too familiar with, and so he's a little gratified that it doesn't seem to... push her away. For some odd reason, because he fundamentally understands that his own personality is easy to get along with, but also hard to get to know.
He’s a sentimental person. It helps that during their very first conversation, he’s immediately able to realize that they have more in common than not -- the same want to correct past wrongs, the same teasing personality. It makes getting along with her very easy, but it also makes it very easy to not get to know her very well, which also suits him fine, because he doesn’t think much on making connections in a world that he might disappear from at any given moment. However, he finds speaking to her both fun and refreshing, which prompts him to spam her often at any given moment and poke at her forever.
... unfortunately, his no-strings-attached policy is backfiring a little when Rise ends up sticking her nose into this mess with the Rockets. Rise has a nosy nature -- Fuji knows that, but he also knows that it’s... not going to be fun anymore if someone he’s enjoyed speaking with gets hurt on the account of something that he’s also involved in. It also doesn’t help that he honestly think that Rise’s personality is a little like his (and insert tangent here about how he makes the exact same mistake in canon -- twice -- poor guy never learns), that she probably has a similar approach to life as he knows it, and this makes him want to help her in this particular situation. In the end, when it comes down to calculating the pros and cons of sticking his hand into this particular pie, he’s decided that he doesn’t particularly want to see a kindred spirit get steamrolled over by angry Rockets, and thus has resolved to actually... do something about the situation.
TL;DR she’s actually arguably one of his closer CRs, depending on which angle you’re viewing it from, and possibly the one he’s most invested in right now, if only because of the ROCKETS and silly things like that. As a side note, he enjoys comparing her to an otter because he likes her reactions, but also because he honestly thinks that otters are intelligent and playful creatures. Rise also reminds him of an old friend of his, which is a little sad, because he does miss his friend. His future plans include contacting her again to see just... where she is at the moment while attempting to formulate something that would help the situation... some.
