Apparently it takes 30 days of resistance before a habit becomes just another ignored temptation. It means "it's gone wrong", though I don't see what's so wrong with pears. English is always interesting, in those kind of ways.

I don't think they are either, but that would be good. If they were like russian dolls. [ english is such a fun language ] Russian dolls are definitely pear-shaped, though.
