I hadn't spoken to her in over a year. We'd parted on bad terms--not all that surprising, I suppose. But the emails were there. Emails in which it seemed, she was proud of me, that she cared. I didn't think anything would come of it, but I emailed her. Maybe... maybe enough time had passed that she might be willing to let the past be.

I think this was an excellent piece! And I can honestly say I can relate. I had a friend who I thought of my best friend at one point, tell me that she didn't think we were ever friends. It hurt, but honestly, I discovered it was the best thing that could have happened.

It's so hard when an old friend reappears but remembers everything differently (whether on purpose or for some strange reasons of their own).
