It seems fairly simple.

A Magic: The Gathering deck is sixty cards. The land/creatures/non-creature spells split is 20/20/20--though you might want to go as high as twenty-four land. It's something to do with ensuring you have mana at the ready: mana screw has caused the loss of many a game.

I just got back into playing and am starting with the XBox360 version to re-familiarize myself with the game. Your analysis makes things more sensible and I can now adjust my playing strategy. Thanks for sharing.

Yup The card strategy is the same, but there's a story element to it as well. I'm told there's an expansion for it too but I've only managed to beat two levels so I think the original is all I can handle at the moment!

Hmmm...I've never played but was always curious about it (I had a friend who would go to these gatherings and play for hours)!

I played Magic a bit when it first came out, but the card RPG games never quite did it for me. I did like the drawings, though. :D

Honestly, I've never played Magic and had no idea it was this involved of a thing. My ignorance is showing. Really interesting piece.
