So Katie asked for context on what I posted last night, so here is the context. It's from a spoken word piece by a guy named Beau Sia (the text is behind the cut). Tania and I found this poem in high school and became kind of obsessed with it. Highly recommended, even for those who are not generally big poetry fans.

So the ACLU did a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the autopsy reports on detainees who died in custody in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The ones ruled as homicides, in particular, speak for themselves. Let's just say it wasn't their fellow prisoners, for the most part, committing the homicides. Leave a comment

How about instead of blaming Gossip Girl and Sex and the City for the fact that we have a crazy-high teen pregnancy rate for an industrialized nation, we blame, I don't know...the religious right and abstinence-only sex ed?

While we're at it, let's retake statistics and teach these folks about selection bias.
