hi ariel!!! :D ok so most of these i should know, it's just a matter of digging them out from my inner psyche...
placebo ~ every me, every you (if not that, then pure morning) rolling stones ~ wild horses (though that just may only be my mother's) pj harvey ~ something from stories...hmm... the new pronographers ~ bleeding heart show (because it makes us cry) radiohead ~ HUNTING BEARS!! jk, house of cards bonnaroo recording bruce springsteen ~ thunder road? velvet underground ~ pale blue eyes nirvana ~ about a girl neil young ~ heart of gold mountain goats ~ no children? (SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!!)
placebo-it is actually tied between those two, so yes rolling stones-nope, sorry, although I do love that song a lot pj harvey-right album! new pornos-hells yes! radiohead-very funny :-) bruce springsteen-that probably comes in at number 2. your clue is it's a title track velvet underground-see rolling stones nirvana-yup! neil young-nope, but it is on the same album mountain goats-nope :-( much as a love that song, it's not my favorite
ahhh such a good one!! i totally was gonna say "wise up" but hesitated, but yay now i know!! and i totally agree about the beatles -- subheadings are necessary.
ps i'm proud that i know not just the song but the version of house of cards you like the most :D "this is with love to you..."
i SO knew the radiohead and nirvana songs! anyways...
the rolling stones - gimme shelter pj harvey - this mess we're in aimmee mann - wise up arcade fire - tunnels stars - your ex-lover is dead the beatles - a day in the life bruce springsteen - born to run broken social scene - stars and sons velvet underground - i'll be your mirror billie holiday - strange fruit bob dylan - shelter from the storm
yes to arcade fire, and the beatles. i couldn't decide between that and another aimee mann song, and to be fair, the other one is super-random if you're not me, so yes to that one too
broken social scene is the right album but the wrong song. ditto pj harvey.
i know you know my favorite rolling stones song somewhere in the back of your head because you turned it up for me on the radio at work once...
argh! ok. i'm think think thinking about the rolling stones. satisfaction? damn, i remember turing up a rolling stones song and all the customers being all angry but i caaaaaan't remember which it was?! paint it black? argh!
i knew pj had to be from stories from the city. hmmmm, we float? ummm broken social scene = anthems for a seventeen year-old girl? i haven't listened to that album in aaaaages.
haha. not either of those, although I like them veryvery much. It is in a movie. Not a movie I particularly like, but a relatively well-known one (and not a Scorcese movie, believe it or not, which must comprise at least half of the Rolling Stones use on soundtracks ever)
2 the rolling stones - jumpin jack flash 7 the mountain goats - hast thou considered the tetrapod 9 death cab - blacking out the friction 16 bruce springsteen - born in the usa 25 neil young - don't let it bring you down
