Why should people support the war? There are people who have lost loved ones in the military and think that they died for an unjust cause, what about all those people?
Also gay marriage wont be legalized true, because its become so taboo in our society for some reason and hated. There were times in history where noone gave sexuality a second thought, the times of the Greeks/Romans as well as other cultures, and in several old tales of lore and legend heroes were portrayed with gay characteristics. But somewhere along time it became something awkward, strange, and something to hate.

My support for the Afghan and Iraq war is based on one thing. Militant Islamic fundamentalists. They want a world where everyone believes and worships as they do. They believe that those who do not believe as they do MUST be killed. That would be you, your mom and your fiancée (congrats by the way). And you think this country is the bully?! Bush’s actions did not start the fundamentalist movement. It has been around for centuries and has been a real threat for decades. Our actions in the Middle East have kept our enemies head down. Keeping them over there and not over here. If it wasn’t for WW2 we would all be dead or speaking German. If it wasn’t for this war on terrorism we would all be dead or worshiping Allah. This country is not a bully; we are protecting our way of life. That means that just like in WW2, we have to go to the threat before the threat comes to us ( ... )

Dont we do the same things to those who do not believe in our government and our way of life? We go over and we kill them. (Thanks for the congrats)
Bush's actions didnt create them, but anger and destruction is what causes hate, and hate gives way for groups such as that. Solving one violent action with another doesnt solve much of anything. The war on terrorism is fighting something that can barely even make its way into our country, terrorists that cant even shoot anything even remotely close to us.
If I were in charge I would spend money helping less fortunate countries that we could prevent from despising us later on down the road instead of attacking others. Theres alot of hate we could avoid if we could accept that some countries dont need to be a democracy for us to help

No. In general, America does not care what other countries do. However, if another country poses a threat to us then we must act. If we don’t act then we will be taken over. You need to understand that reality. If we do not defend our country, every right and freedom we have will be gone. I don’t want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan, but I would rather fight over there than wait for the fight to come here.

Agreed.

Solving one violent action with another doesnt solve much of anything.
You cannot negotiate with someone who has a radical mindset much less an entire militant fundamentalist culture. What are our options?
