I mentioned somewhere back in the comments of another post that I have an extensive body of original fic. I've always been hesitant to dip too far into JK's world, because it's all relatively tightly interrelated, plot wise, and it was hard to write a story with substantial original plot and at least attempt not to step on canon when I didn't know

I'd be interested to read- I've gotten kind of annoyed with Lupin fanfic because I also just can't see the R/S thing as more than friendship.

Post it! You'll never get universal approval but there'll definitely be people who will read and enjoy it. Don't deprive them! :D

Done. :) and yeah, I've been writing too long to be suffering under the illusion that it's possible to please everyone... but I know fandom in general and the HP fandom in particular can get very twitchy about OCs, so I just wanted to get a feel for general reaction here before I posted. My OCs are very near and dear to my heart, and weaving them into JK's world in a believable way is difficult to say the least... so if the general reaction here was that fics with OCs weren't worth reading, I would've just kept this on my HD for my own amusement rather than triggering a meta debate on whether OCs should exist in HP fic. ;)

I'm definitely interested. I have a story of my own that's been brewing for more than four years that involves an AU-version of what actually HAPPENED in HBP and DH (i.e. Dumbledore dies, Voldemort takes over, Snape becomes Headmaster of Hogwarts). Remus is a central character, and while it's probably careening toward a Remus/OFC pairing, it takes into account both Remus/Sirius and Remus/Tonks.

And really, if you don't end up posting here, I'm sure none of us would mind a link to where you DO post.

First chapter is up (it's friends-locked; I'm a little leery of posting anything with my OCs on LJ without locking it, because I'm still playing with the idea of publishing the novel I've got going).
