The Fickleness of Australian Weather Part 2

It's still raining. Cyclonic winds have died down, though, but not before ripping my neighbour's tree out of the ground, narrowly missing their car as it came to rest in their driveway. The wind caused all manner of destruction throughout town. Trees down all over the place, fences twisted and broken, awnings ripped off stores, etc, but we came ( Read more... )

Relieved to hear you haven't been washed away - those winds on top of the rain sound pretty horrific! Hope you get your leaks fixed before long and that everything drys out. *hugs*

We had more snow last night, but it's thawing now and there's heavy rain forecast - not a good combination. For the moment though, the sun is shining but it's still freezing cold. I've come to the conclusion that I don't like weather.

Writing this from Redcliffe (Currently at magikalrhiannon's house. It's soo muggy down here, and I have to drive home tomorrow.

So glad hubby got home safely, and had to laugh at Little Miss 12 going boogie boarding in the puddles. Sending as many dry thoughts your way as I possibly can. *hugs* stay safe!

We have one of those family stories which says 'don't go on holiday or away anywhere when my youngest daughter and/or her partner do - it always rains. It usually chucks it down!!'

They went out to Australia to live nearly two years ago, happily ensconced in Brisbane and embrace the outdoor life... That is, when it isnt raining!
They have the tent, the 4WD, all the gear, all set for the weekend.... The wailing message reached me across the thousands of miles - "Mum, why meeeeee!!!!!"
Did I laugh? Me, her mother? As if...!

Meanwhile, Happy Australia Day to all of you. Keep safe, warm and dry. XX

HUGS!

I'm glad you're alive, your hubby is home safely, and you haven't killed your daughter. (Though, I would have bailed you out if you had. You know, maybe you should send her up on the roof to patch the holes. ;) ) Also glad your house and all came through relatively unscathed.

I'd invite you here, but we have 3 in. of snow, it's still coming down, and it's -5C right now--and that's warm in comparison to what we've been having.

More hugs and smooches to you!
