For light's sake, you guys, why do you wanna know so bad how you tell if a cat's a boy or a girl? It's not like it's a magic trick. It's not even that useful a skill.
[Y halo thar subject-change.]
A name, right. [Think think think.] Well, she's black and white... [Like light and darkness. Heh, she's kinda like them; not one, not the other, but not grey in-between, she's just bits of both and all of neither. Animals had hearts, though... and not just the kind that beat. The similarities stopped at the convergence of dark and light. She has something they don't--an ardor and impetus maybe they can't even really remember.]
Elan. [He says it before he really realizes he's talking, reaching for the cat again and setting it in one wide palm.] I think that's your name.
I always hit the "thread" button so it never bothers me XDbriefandbrightJune 5 2011, 09:58:46 UTC
[... why does he? Because he doesn't know. That's really the only answer he can come up with.] I... don't know. Because I don't know? I dunno... [hello, captain redundant]
clearly you are not as OCD as Karigot_it_memorizdJune 5 2011, 10:53:04 UTC
If you really want to know the finer nuances of inspecting a cat's rear end, I can share, I guess. Only reason I know is 'cuz-- [He stops himself, then looks a little abashed.] Well, I used to bring home stray animals a lot when I was a kid. [He puts the cat on his shoulder and folds his arms.] Like younger than Lea is now... my ma used to get really frustrated with me; obviously we couldn't keep all of them. I wound up taking most of them to the town vet--he actually taught me a lot, much to ma's chagrin. She didn't like it when I started poking holes in her arguments about why we couldn't have six cats.
[Yeah, you caught him. He likes cats. Shh, don't tell anyone.]
Anyway. Guess I never quite got out of the habit of collecting strays.
Elan's a French word--I got lost in Beast's Castle the first time I went there and found myself in the library. Wasted some time flipping through a dictionary--you guys know I like words. [Uh... cat. Is attacking his hair. What is this I don't even. ASHJKgksdf okay no more shoulder for

Where does it come from? [She watches Axel with the kitten, obviously pleased that he seems to be just as fond of it, so quickly.]

"Elan"... [Roxas nods.] I like it, too.
