Your Kirihara is perfection. He is so perfectly innocent while still being demonic and angry with the world. It works so well together.

That's what I think I like most about your stories~ Your characterizations all have a certain amount of childish innocence, while still dealing with very mature problems.

Thank you so very much! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed Kirihara in this fic. And the characterizations of others as well. For me, it's important to remember that these characters are young, and yet moving towards growing up, so finding a balance is something I always aim for.

And teenagers are just plain fun to write! ;)

It's funny -- reading this made me feel that I was walking on eggshells, almost. There is so much tension, and a real sense of expectation and anticipation suffuses this story. I really like that your charactisations are internally consistent, but somewhat fluid across several stories. This Kirihara and this Yanagi are not the same as those in Accidentally All Right, or Appropriation (although there are some similarities, of course!), and I think that's one of the reasons why your fics feel so fresh to me.

This is, I think, quite a challenging read. The reader can't be lazy (unlike Yanagi!): it requires real engagement, and rewards it, too. It's definitely something I will come back to again, because it's excellent and thought-provoking. Perhaps that why I felt so on edge when I was reading it -- so many stories (which I often love!) give some level of comfort to their readers, whereas I felt that this didn't (until the end, which hit the perfect note).

It's a perfect title, too. I loved this fic.

It was tense? Yay! I was going for tense, but from a writer's POV, I rarely feel like I achieve quite what I set out to.

And I squirm with joy that the titled worked for you. The title was around before much of the writing was, and was the whole theme I was going for--along with the contrast with Inui/Kaidoh.

I really enjoyed the story- Yanagi, especially, was very real to me (bad memories of previous relationship attempts!) but all your characters are so complete, it's a pleasure reading them. I loved the hints of Yagyuu/Niou, and the Sanada-Yukimura mutual girls=yuck!, it's like a tribute to the rest of your stories while making over Yanagi and Kirihara. Kirihara is always a favorite of mine, and I love how you wrote him, desperate to catch up always, so in character!, half-crazy, but totally giving of himself

The musical was very inspiring for this fic, as was (of course) the manga canon which needed interpreting, what with all Yanagi's enabling Kirihara to go absolutely batshit the way he did. I'm so glad that you enjoyed how Kirihara was written. He's always so much fun: half-childish and desperate to "keep up" with the Troika!

Inui isn't my favourite character, either, so I'm very pleased that he worked for you. He's really hard for me to write, so I tend not to write him much (and he's kinda...boring to me, especially in comparison with Yanagi), but I wanted to juxtapose a 'bad romance' with a 'good' one, so to speak.

I've never been sure of this pairing, as I feel that its just a product of pairing everyone that ever plays doubles together (and I'll admit that the majority of Rikkai pairs well together...). With Inui/Kaidoh pairing (my closet pair) set up in the background as a parallel I didn't mind it so much.

Oh the Fuji cameos where amazing.

Just more like, awkward teenage boy sex was awesome (cause its never going to be perfect the first few times), and how school life seems so real.

Rikkai does all pair rather well together, don't they? Except maybe Sanada/Jackal, which doesn't make much sense on the surface. ;) Thank you so much for giving this fic a chance!

I don't know what to say.
I just love you for writing this.

As much as I love Yanagi, I feel like slapping him for his asshole-ness.
I know he has a complex mind, personality, past and all - but why he took it on Akaya - the one who cares about him the most.
It hurts me when Akaya said "Why do you hate me?". I even screamed in my room, 'no baby he does not hate you, he won't okay fffuuu just apologize rite now yanagi ya stupid!!'
sorry, i'm getting sentimental. I love you for making me like this, really.
